Send Windows & Timing
Control when messages are delivered to avoid sending at inconvenient hours.
How send windows work
Each automation has a send window — a range of hours (e.g. 10 AM to 8 PM) during which messages can be delivered. The window is based on your restaurant's configured timezone.
What happens outside the window?
If a customer becomes eligible outside the send window, the message is queued — not skipped. The next time the automation engine runs and the local time is inside the window, all queued messages are sent automatically. This ensures no customer is missed.
Example: Your send window is 10 AM – 8 PM (Eastern). A customer becomes eligible at 11 PM. The message is queued and will be sent the next morning after 10 AM when the engine next runs.
Default settings
- Default window: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Default timezone: America/Toronto (Eastern)
- You can adjust both the start and end hours when creating or editing an automation.
Evaluation frequency
The automation engine runs every 15 minutes. During each run, it evaluates all active automations, identifies newly eligible customers, and either sends immediately (if inside the window) or queues for later.
