Courier Partners (DoorDash / Uber Eats)

Use third-party courier networks to deliver orders without managing your own delivery fleet. MenuLogic integrates with DoorDash Drive and Uber Eats to handle the last mile while you keep control of the customer relationship and branding.

End-to-end flow

Quote request
When a customer enters a delivery address, MenuLogic requests a delivery quote from the courier partner's API with the pickup location, drop-off location, and order details.
Order placed
When the customer completes checkout, a courier delivery is created with the quote ID.
Driver dispatched
The courier partner assigns a driver and sends real-time status updates via webhooks.
Status tracking
Status updates flow from the courier partner → MenuLogic webhook → order record → customer notification. Statuses include: driver assigned, en route to pickup, at pickup, en route to customer, delivered.
Delivery confirmed
When the driver confirms drop-off, the order status is automatically updated to "Delivered", which triggers the review collection flow.

Customer experience

Customers receive a courier tracking URL in their order confirmation SMS/email.
The tracking page shows real-time driver location on a map.
Delivery status updates are sent via SMS at key milestones.

Courier pricing

Each courier partner has its own pricing structure. The delivery fee quoted to the customer is determined by the courier's API at checkout time based on distance, demand, and order size.

DoorDash Drive

Fee component	Details
Base delivery fee	CA$14.00 for deliveries within 8 km (~5 mi).
Additional distance	CA$0.67/km beyond 8 km, up to a maximum of 24 km (~15 mi).
Tipping discount	When driver tipping is enabled and 100% of the tip goes to the driver, orders with a tip of CA$3+ receive a CA$3.95 discount — reducing the effective base fee to ~CA$10.05.
Commission	No per-order commission — you pay only the flat delivery fee.

Uber Direct

Fee component	Details
Base delivery fee	Quote-based — determined per-merchant during onboarding. Varies by market, distance, and volume.
Distance fee	Charged per kilometre beyond the base radius. Rate provided in your Uber Direct agreement.
Driver tips	Tips go directly to the driver. Higher tips improve driver acceptance rates and pickup speed.
Priority delivery	Available at a higher fee — prioritises your order in the driver queue for faster pickup.
Commission	No per-order commission — you pay only the delivery fee per order.

Note: All courier fees shown are approximate CAD equivalents and are dynamic — actual fees are determined by each provider's API at the time of the delivery quote based on distance, demand, and market conditions.

Important notes

Manual delivery status changes are blocked for active courier deliveries to prevent conflicts with webhook updates.
Courier delivery IDs, external delivery IDs, and tracking URLs are all stored on the order record.
The courier delivery fee is separate from any restaurant delivery fee tiers you configure — both are factored into the total.
