Menu Items
Add and manage the individual dishes, drinks, and products available for ordering. Each item has extensive configuration options.
Item properties
- Name — The item name displayed on the menu card and in orders.
- Description — A short description shown when customers expand the item details.
- Base price — The default price before any modifiers. Can be overridden per category.
- Image — A photo shown on the menu card. Recommended: 800×600px, JPEG or WebP.
- Dietary tag — Optional label like Vegetarian, Vegan, Halal, Gluten-free. Shown as a badge on the menu card.
- Food cost — Your cost to produce this item. Used for margin calculations in Menu Analytics — helps you identify high-margin vs. low-margin items.

Assigning items to categories
Items can appear in multiple categories. For each category assignment, you can:
- Set a price override for that specific category.
- Control the item's sort order within the category (drag to reposition).
Modifier group assignment
Attach one or more modifier groups to an item to enable customer customisation. When assigning a modifier group, you can optionally override the group's default min/max selection counts for this specific item.
Tip: Always add a high-quality image — items with images receive significantly more add-to-carts than text-only listings. Check Menu Analytics to see the difference.
