Recommendations
Boost average order value by suggesting complementary items during the ordering process. MenuLogic supports both manual and AI-driven recommendations.
Recommendation types
- Manual pairings
You explicitly define item-to-item pairings (e.g. burger → fries, pizza → garlic bread). These always take priority over smart recommendations.
- Smart (co-purchase analysis)
The system analyses your historical order data to find items that are frequently bought together. For example, if 40% of customers who order a chicken wrap also order a mango smoothie, the smoothie will be suggested when the wrap is in the cart.
Where recommendations appear
- Cart drawer — "You might also like" section below the cart items.
- Checkout page — Last-chance recommendations before payment.
Measuring impact
The Overview dashboard includes a Recommendation ROI card (visible when there's recommendation activity) showing:
- Revenue from recommended items.
- Number of recommended items actually purchased.
- AOV uplift — how much higher the average order value is when recommendations are accepted.
Each order item also tracks its recommendation source, so you can see exactly which sales were driven by the recommendation engine in the order history.
