Campaigns

Send targeted SMS or email campaigns to your customer base to drive repeat orders and engagement. The campaign wizard walks you through the process step by step.

    1. Name & type

Give your campaign a name and choose SMS or Email.

    2. Select template

Choose from your existing message templates. The template preview is shown so you can verify the content.

    3. Define audience

Filter your customer base using multiple criteria:

      • Starting audience — Choose "All Customers" or select a specific saved Customer List as the base pool.
      • Customer tags (e.g. "VIP", "Lunch Regular") — includes both system and manual tags.
      • Order recency (e.g. ordered in last 30 days).
      • Order frequency and total spend thresholds.
      • Location-based targeting (distance from a location).
    4. Attach discount code (optional)

Link a discount code to the campaign. The code is automatically inserted into the template via the {{discount_code}} variable.

    5. Schedule or send

Choose to send immediately or schedule for a future date/time. Review the estimated recipient count before confirming.

    Campaign statuses

    • Draft — Campaign is being configured. Can be edited or deleted.
    • Scheduled — Campaign will be sent at the scheduled time. Can be cancelled.
    • Sending — Campaign is actively being delivered to recipients.
    • Sent — All messages have been dispatched. Analytics are now available.

    Audience targeting rules

    The audience targeting system supports:

    • Tag logic — AND/OR logic for combining multiple tags (e.g. "VIP AND Local" or "VIP OR Regular").
    • Distance filtering — Target customers within a maximum distance from a location.
    • Fallback behaviour — What to do when a customer doesn't have enough data for filtering (include or exclude).

    SMS delivery

SMS campaigns are sent via Twilio. The system respects the SMS opt-out list — customers who replied STOP are automatically excluded. Each recipient's delivery status (sent/failed) is tracked with error details.

    Email delivery

Email campaigns are sent via SendGrid. Each email includes an unsubscribe link. Delivery is tracked per recipient.

Tip: Start with a small, targeted audience (e.g. VIP customers) to test your message before sending to your entire base. Check Campaign Analytics after 48 hours to measure impact.
