Delivery Rules

Advanced rules that govern when and how delivery is offered. These work alongside fee tiers and subsidies.

    Minimum order value

Set a minimum order subtotal required for delivery. Orders below this threshold can only be placed as pickup. This helps ensure delivery orders are profitable after accounting for delivery costs.

    Free delivery minimum

Set an order value above which delivery is automatically free (e.g. "Free delivery on orders over $50"). This is a permanent rule, separate from the new-account promotion and subsidy tiers. Customers see a progress bar at checkout showing how close they are to free delivery.

    Business hours

Delivery availability follows the business hours configured per location. Outside of these hours, only pickup is available (if enabled). Business hours are set in the location configuration under Integrations.

    How fees stack

The final delivery fee the customer pays is calculated as:

    1. Start with the distance-based fee tier amount.
    2. Subtract any restaurant subsidy based on order value.
    3. If the customer is a new account and the promo is enabled, subtract the new-account discount (up to the max).
    4. If the order exceeds the free delivery minimum, fee becomes $0.
    5. The final fee is never less than $0.
Tip: Set your free delivery minimum just above your current average order value to encourage customers to add one more item.
