Review Collection Setup
Automatically request Google reviews from customers after they receive their order. This is one of the most impactful features for growing your online presence — restaurants using automated review collection typically see 3–5× more Google reviews.
How the trigger works
- Order completion detected
When an order status is changed to "Picked Up" (for pickup orders) or "Delivered" (for delivery orders), the review collection flow begins. For courier deliveries, this happens automatically when the driver confirms drop-off via webhook.
- Delay countdown
The system waits for the configured delay period (default: 60 minutes). This gives the customer time to enjoy their food before being asked for a review.
- Review request sent
After the delay, a review request is sent via SMS, email, or both, depending on your configuration. The message includes a direct link to your Google Business review page.
- Logged & tracked
The system records the
review_request_sent_attimestamp on the order. Only one review request is sent per order — duplicates are prevented.
Configuration options
- Enable/disable — Toggle review collection on or off globally.
- Collection method — Choose SMS, Email, or Both.
- Delay (minutes) — How long to wait after order completion before sending. Default: 60 minutes. Recommended range: 30–120 minutes.
- SMS template — Customise the SMS message text (see SMS & Email Templates).
- Email template — Select an email template from the message templates system (see SMS & Email Templates).
- Google Place ID — Required for generating the review link (see Google Place ID).
Review metrics on the dashboard
Once configured, a Review Metrics card appears on the Overview dashboard showing review requests sent, Google reviews gained, and your current Google rating — all responsive to the date range filter.
