Verification Modes

Control how strictly you verify guest checkout phone numbers. Verification trades off checkout friction against the quality of the contact data you collect.

Available modes

• Off — No OTP required. Fastest checkout, lowest data quality. Best for low-fraud environments.
• Optional — OTP is offered but skippable. Customers who verify unlock account features (rewards, faster reorder).
• Required — Every checkout must verify by SMS OTP before payment. Highest data quality and best protection against fake orders.

Authenticated account holders skip verification entirely — they already verified at signup.
